A new initiative to drive business into every district of the Tablelands is set to be released this Easter by Tropical Tablelands Tourism.
The self drive promotion leverages off the regional tourism organisations new website www.athertontablelands.com.au using a QR code (quick response code print based URL) to connect drivers in rental cars with regional self drive itineraries.
Three distinct self drive itineraries covering northern, central and southern Tablelands are featured, as are compatible accommodation options to encourage overnight stays in region.
A colourful flyer handed out to all hirers of Avis and Budget rental cars in Port Douglas, Palm Cove, Cairns and Townsville is the ignition for the self drive promotion. Avis Budget Group regional director Wayne Lapthorne said the promotion would increase visiting time in the region.
“People hiring our cars will be encouraged to explore further on the Tablelands because the routes are mapped out for them – its a win/win situation which connects both print and online mediums to distribute information which will keep people in the region discovering even further,” he said.
The Easter self drive campaign was conceived and developed by TTT’s marketing representation company, Pinnacle Tourism Marketing.
