This month Tropical Tablelands Tourism will host two information forums in Mareeba and Atherton on October 29-30.
The seminars, which will be presented by TTT’s marketing consultant, Pinnacle Marketing, will give members an update on the industry, how the organisation delivers its initiatives to market the destination and the opportunities for operators.
TTT Chair and Member for Barron River Michael Trout said the forums were an excellent opportunity for operators to engage with TTT and gain a better understanding of the work it carried out.
“This is a great example of TTT working with members to recognise future opportunities as well as highlight some of the great work that has been carried out in recent years and answer any questions.
“TTT’s primary focus is to promote and market the destination – everything relating to pre-arrival – and we have been very clever in how we do this.”
Some of TTT recent achievements include the delivery of the Drive North Queensland Smart Phone App, which has been adopted by Tourism Tropical North Queensland and used in all self drive campaigns, self drive itineraries in partnership with AVIS Cairns and Townsville, the Birding App and the launch of new branding and fully integrated website.
Mr Trout said it was not often that members find the time to come together and these forums offered a great opportunity to interact with the TTT board of directors as well as other members.
He said TTT would also take the opportunity to officially launch the Discover Media Kit for 2014.
“Not only is Discover one of the most important tools for marketing the Atherton Tablelands with 150,000 copies of the magazine printed and distributed across Australia, it also an important source of funding for TTT.
“This magazine is exclusively for members and has justifiably earned a reputation as one of the most comprehensive visitor guides in Australia.
“For some of our members this is the only external marketing they do, but the great thing about Discover is that this is enough. It is taken to all travel expos around Australia, it is used internationally in all our marketing efforts and it offers a great insight into the attractions of this region in particular for the self-drive market.”
