Hosted by @Queensland all across the Sunshine State on Saturday, October 4 Tropical Tablelands Tourism (TTT) has issued an invitation to all would be “Instagrammers” to come along to the Curtain Fig Tree at Yungaburra by 2pm.
TTT chair and Member for Barren River Michael Trout said for the region to have the best possible to chance to be seen, there needed to be as many people as possible attend.
“We couldn’t think of a better or more iconic place to capture some of best pics of the Atherton Tablelands. The Curtain Fig Tree is nestled among World Heritage Listed rainforest so the lighting is ideal at this time of day.
Another tourism operator getting on board with the action is @SkyrailCairns who have offered 15 free return seats in its Diamond View and four seats in its Canopy Glider carriages for those wanting to take part in their Instameet at 10am on Saturday, October 4.
Craig Pocock, managing director of Skyrail, said the Instameet was a great opportunity to showcase Skyrail and also other iconic tourist attractions in the region, on what will potentially be a global scale.
“We weren’t surprised at the level of interest shown in our Instameet at all and would welcome anyone who would still like to participate, to contact us,” Mr Pocock said.
“With the continual rapid growth of social media and digital development as a whole, it is important to ensure we remain current, if not ahead of trends.
This is a great example of how by working together with other operators and Tourism Tropical North Queensland, we can really shine the spotlight on Tropical North Queensland,” he added.
On the day, the hashtag is #thisisqueensland, as well as #athertontablelands and #tropicalnorthqueensland and for those travelling with Skyrail, simply #skyrail. There will be prize giveaways on the day including a $1000 Queensland holiday.
“Make sure you are following @athertontablelands, @queensland, @tropicalnorthqueensland on Instagram to see all the fantastic photos coming through,” Mr Trout added.
