Tropical Tablelands Tourism’s (TTT) media and PR consultant Tanya Snelling was honoured with not one, but two awards at the recent 2014 Queensland Multi Media Awards (QMMA) on November 8.
Tanya was the recipient of the major award on the night for Best Advertising Campaign Across All Media as well as for Best Tourism Film / TV Campaign in a joint award with WIN TV Cairns production manager Andre Heise and Tim Petrie of T.V.I.P.
Tropical Tablelands Tourism Chairman and Member for Barron River Michael Trout said the media awards was formed as a platform for members of the media and associated businesses to showcase their expertise in their field and demonstrate to their peers and competitors the high standard of their work.
“I congratulate Tanya on her outstanding achievement – these awards are very well deserved and an example of a true leader in the industry. “Tanya has been engaged by TTT for several years now and we are lucky to have such a professional facilitate all our media and PR activities,” he added.
Mr Trout said Ms Snelling was just one of a small team who continued to drive innovation from within the organisation, whose charter it is to market the “Atherton Tablelands” destination not only domestically in Australia but also the “Cairns Highlands” brand internationally.
“Pinnacle Marketing have been engaged by TTT for four years, and during this time we have achieved many highlights thanks to their dedication, professionalism and knowledge to facilitate and market the destination.
In 2013, their work along with the executive officer Bronwyn Cant was recognised at the TNQ Tourism Awards for outstanding Destination Marketing.
“In 2012 we launched the Drive North Queensland Smart Phone app, which was a project that was initiated and delivered by TTT and has now become a key marketing tool within TTNQ’s Drive North Queensland Campaign.
“We also continue to produce Discover (visitor guide) in-house, and are one of the only regional organisations to be able to do this thanks to the level of experience of our team. “This year we are going to put those skills we have developed to good practice with the launch a dedicated app for this very popular visitor guide as well as new interactive platform. We hope to reach a whole new audience that perhaps don’t find the publication through traditional distribution methods.”
