The Crystal Caves Museum in Atherton today announced that it has received a TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence. Now in its sixth year, the achievement celebrates tourism businesses that have earned great traveller reviews on TripAdvisor over the past year. Certificate of Excellence recipients include accommodations, eateries and attractions located all over the world that have continually delivered a quality customer experience.
“As such an unusual attraction, this is a great honour for us,” Manager Ghislaine Gallo said. “TripAdvisor is a great platform for international visitors to recognise the importance of a collection such as ours” she said.
The Crystal Caves was established in 1987 by René and Nelleke Boissevain to house their private collection of crystals, fossils and mineral specimens from all over the world. While the hobby of collecting minerals is not common practice in Australia, it is hugely accepted and respected in Europe and America.
“Earlier this year, we received an excellent review from GIA’s Supervisor of Field Gemology, Vincent Pardieu. As a geological institute, this is the highest accolade we could hope for. As a tourist attraction, to be recognised by the world’s largest travel site is very rewarding”.
“With the Certificate of Excellence, TripAdvisor honors businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings from travelers,” said Heather Leisman, Vice President of Industry Marketing, TripAdvisor. “This recognition helps travelers identify properties that regularly deliver great service. TripAdvisor is proud to play this integral role in helping travelers feel more confident in their travel decisions.”
The Certificate of Excellence accounts for the quality, quantity and recency of reviews submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
