The MEPT – Crocodile Trophy is the world’s and Australia’s oldest and most legendary mountain bike stage race.
This year the 23rd edition of the event will start in Cairns on 16th September and finish on Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas on 23rd. In August this year the race organisers of the Crocodile Trophy confirmed a new major sponsor for the race with the “Middle East Peace Tour” coming on board as its principal patron and partner event.
The eight-day stage plan for 2017 Crocodile Trophy will be:
Stage 1 (16th) – Smithfield – 33km
Stage 2 (17th) – Cairns – Lake Tinaroo – 78km (incl. 12km neutral to official start)
Stage 3 (18th) – Lake Tinaroo – Tepon Equestrian Park, Kalunga/Herberton – 105km
Stage 4 (19th) – Kalunga – Skybury Coffee – 121km
Stage 5 (20th) – Skybury Coffee Marathon – 125km
Stage 6 (21st) – Skybury Coffee – Wetherby Station – 103km
Stage 7 (22nd) – Wetherby Station Marathon – 78km
Stage 8 (23rd) – Wetherby Station – Four Mile Beach – 30km.
