Mutchilba
34 kilometres west of Mareeba is the tiny town of Mutchilba. It consists of a shop, a few homesteads, school, church and playground.
Mutchilba lies in the heart of mango country. In November each year the Mango Madness Mardi Gras is held in the town. The population swells with visitors who are motivated by a love of mangoes!

Enjoy morning tea at the Mutchilba Wheelbarrow Way Cafe. They have a range of Devonshire teas, fresh homemade meals and snacks, takeaway food, groceries, ice, small goods, bait, local produce, oils and auto accessories, discount fuel, ATM, Internet access and EFTPOS available. The Cafe is famous for their Mango Cheesecake. Open from 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm Saturday and 8am to 1pm Sunday.

History
The region had traditionally been a tobacco farming area, but with the downturn in the industry many farmers were faced with the prospect of diversifying their crops.
