Small towns dot our Atherton Tableland landscape, providing accommodation, dining, and attractions.
Listed here are only some of the towns, we will add more periodically. Click on a town link to find out more:
Northern Region:
Kuranda - known as the village in the rainforest.
Mareeba - the largest town on the tablelands, where the "Rainforest meets the Outback".
Biboohra - a small wayside stop.
Central Region:
Atherton - a bustling township, the 2nd largest on the Tablelands.
Yungaburra - a picturesque and historic village.
Malanda - a friendly town in the heart of Dairy Country.
Lake Tinaroo - a settlement on the shores of Lake Tinaroo.
Tolga - small township near Atherton.
Southern Region:
Ravenshoe - old timber town, and Queenslands highest.
Millaa Millaa - little township close to many waterfalls.
Outback:
Herberton - oldest town on the Tablelands.
Irvinebank - old mining town.
Chillagoe - outback mining town, limestone caves.
Dimbulah - small agricultural town.
Mutchilba - wayside stop on the way to Chillagoe.
Mt Mulligan - remains of this mining town an attraction, can be accessed via Dimbulah.
