Kuranda Original Rainforest Market

The Original Markets are located in the market precinct of Kuranda, Therwine Street, adjacent to Centenary Park and the Kuranda Visitor Information Centre. You will find locally designed and produced fashions; hand crafted jewellery; indigenous artists; leather workers; masseurs; woodworkers and gemstone specialists, as well as North Queensland’s best range of honeys; local coffee; cafes; tropical fruits; coconuts and macadamia nuts.

Kuranda Riverboat Tours

The calm waters of the beautiful upland Barron River in Kuranda provides great photographic opportunities whilst your local guide shares their vast knowledge of this unique area. The river is home to a host of wildlife including freshwater crocodiles, turtles, snakes, water dragons and fish, together with over 100 species of tropical birds. The boat will carry a maximum of 30 passengers. Groups are encouraged and the boat can be privately chartered for special events.

Kuranda Heritage Markets

The Kuranda Heritage Markets are set in the picturesque natural rainforest and are open plan designed so while you explore and shop you'll be on the doorstep of world heritage listed rainforest. Some of the friendlier and more human oriented animals also make a part of the markets with regular interactions with exotic birdlife and the unique water dragons that tend to fraternise with patrons. Open every day from 9:30 to 3:30 pm.

Kuranda Koala Gardens

Kuranda Koala Gardens is Kuranda's newest wildlife attraction! Situated in the heart of Kuranda, this attraction gives you the opportunity to see some of Australia's most unique wildlife up close. We have a variety of wildlife for you to see. Open daily from 9 am to 4 pm.

Australian Butterfly Sanctuary

Australian Butterfly Sanctuary

Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is the largest butterfly flight aviary and exhibit in Australia - a quality wildlife park in the heart of Kuranda Village. Situated next to the Kuranda markets, The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is home to over 1500 magnificent tropical butterflies that are hand reared on the premises.

Kuranda Rainforest Journeys

Rainforest Journeys offers a slow and gentle ATV ride through the magnificent Barron Falls Estate. The Estate is nestled within the oldest tropical rainforest on earth and surrounded by the Barron Gorge National Park. Kuranda Scenic Railway

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

Skyrail is the World's Most Beautiful Rainforest Experience. A 7.5 km cableway, Skyrail glides just metres over the canopy of Australia's World Heritage listed Tropical Rainforests. Two mid-stations, Red Peak and Barron Falls, provide the perfect opportunity to explore and learn more about this ancient environment on boardwalks and at the Rainforest Interpretation Centre.
