The COVID-19 outbreak in Australia is being managed as a health emergency, with both the Australian and Queensland Governments implementing measures as part of the pandemic response.
All camping areas in Queensland national parks, state forests and recreation areas are closed until further notice .
All non-essential travel is also restricted in many of our neighbouring regions including Cook Shire, Carpentaria Shire and Burke Shire. Police are stationed at access points including the Mulligan Highway near Mount Carbine and Lakeland.
We encourage all visitors to reconsider their travel plans at this time and we look forward to welcoming you when all travel restrictions are lifted.
