Atherton parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 7am on the Atherton Tablelands Railtrail (opposite Platypus Park, Corner of Weaver St and Atherton-Herbeton Road, Atherton). This is a FREE event, organised entirely by volunteers.
Atherton parkrun provides the community access a free, timed 5km group event every Saturday morning where participants have the choice to run, walk or volunteer at each event, promoting a healthy lifestyle, improved mental health, and increasing social cohesion and connectedness in the community. There are no “winners” at parkrun as every finisher receives an email with their time – this is their PB (personal best) and their time to improve. It is non-competitive with a focus on self-improvement.
Parkrun aims to engage people from all backgrounds and of all fitness levels, abilities and ages, both as volunteers and as participants, irrespective of gender, socio-economic status, ethnicity, disability, or mental health status.
