Mount Bartle Frere

Climbing the summit of Queensland’s highest mountain offers a challenging way to explore part of the World Heritage-listed rainforest of the Bellenden Ker Range.

Only experienced and very fit bushwalkers should attempt the trail to the top of Mt Bartle Frere.

Access is via Malanda and Topaz and good maps are essential.

On a clear day there are stunning views from the 1,611m summit.

Allow at least two days and ensure you have booked a camping permit.

Tableland Adventure Guides offer a 3-day Mount Bartle Frere tour led by your local guide who has a keen eye for spotting Wooroonooran wildlife.
