Crater Close
Lake Eacham Tourist Park is about a 10-minute walk from Lake Eacham and set in beautiful lush grounds. It’s also very near Yungaburra and Malanda. There’s cabins and powered caravan sites as well as shady spots for tents. There’s lots of space for the kids and pets to run around in, wild birds and ducks and chicks around a duck pond.

Tinaroo Fun
Lake Tinaroo Holiday Park is happy for you to bring two pets per booking. Though they must be kept on a leash there’s plenty of park space to roam around in and pet “parking” spaces. The holiday park has all the amenities including a café, shop and pool. You can also rent water sports gear. Accommodation options include villas, units, cabins and powered sites.

Atherton Stay

NRMA BIG4 Atherton Tablelands Holiday Park has special pet friendly cabins among its range of accommodation options. Elsewhere small pets are allowed on the powered and unpowered sites. Bring the Family
The Tolga Caravan Park is happy to have pets stay but as usual let them know you are bringing the whole family when you make the booking. This caravan park has cabins and rent and caravan/RV sites and guests can use the nearby sports facility as a personal gym. There’s BBQs and a playground as well.

River Escape
Sharlynn by the River bed and breakfast at Malanda lets you share its beauty and wonderful features with man’s best friend though conditions apply. Going West
Heading north west? Mt Carbine Caravan Park on the Peninsular Highway is surrounded by mountains with the Great Dividing Range just 3km away. This haven in the Australian bush is happy to have pets stay if kept under control, particularly with so much wildlife around. The park has cabins and powered and unpowered sites. It has its own dump point for RVs and caravans.

Beach Time
Going to and from the Atherton Tablelands the Villa Marine Holiday Apartments at Yorkey’s Knob near Cairns is a beach side paradise. Feeling energetic? Here’s a couple of parks to lark around in

The Atherton Off-leash Dog Park is a great place for you and your dog to stretch out and find new friends. It’s at 98 Atherton-Herberton Road, Atherton and is a large fenced park with plenty of trees and shades. It has bins, agility equipment, waste bags, seating, tables and water.
The Mareeba Off-leash Dog Park on Doyle Street, Mareeba has plenty of room for your dogs to have a run round in safety. It’s actually huge and fenced, with trees for shade, a water fountain for you and your dog, and a bin and bags.
Pet Friendly Attractions
The Historic Village Herberton is pet friendly with dogs on leads welcome. The historic pioneer Village is a must do stop for visitors to the Atherton Tablelands – you will need a whole day to explore, or two or three (lucky there is a three-day pass that comes complimentary with your ticket).
