The Torimba Festival is Ravenshoe’s biggest community event held in October every year, and this year marks 50 years of the festival.
The word Torimba is derived from Tourism and Timber. The Torimba Festival which includes the timber craft exhibition known as the Festival of the Forest promotes Ravenshoe’s heritage as a former timber town. Torimba fosters community spirit and unites the town and district. The Torimba Mardi Gras parade is example of community participation.
